New images of the 2014 BMW 4-Series Convertible have leaked online. The 4-Series Convertible is technically a 4-Series Coupe without its roof. Like the outgoing 3-Series Convertible the 4-Series with have a retractable hardtop.

The new 2015 Cadillac Escalade has been unveiled by Cadillac and its design is a good departure from the previous generation. With sharper lines and a larger more pronounced front grill, the Escalade is a much more modern looking vehicle but still maintains key Cadillac design cues. It features new dedicated LED headlights and rear vertical, Volvo like tail lights. Like past generations of the Cadillac Escalade it maintains its large presences, it rides on 20 or 22-inch wheels with the option of chrome. It will be offered in standard and extended wheelbase models.

Mercedes Benz has renamed the CL-Coupe the S-Class coupe in order to reduce the amount of alphanumeric names in Mercedes’ lineup. The name change makes it the first two-door S-Class since the 1990s. The S-Class coupe shares the same platform as the 4-door Mercedes Benz S-Class meaning there will be extensive use of aluminum to save weight and the option of Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel drive. A year after the arrival of the coupe a convertible S-Class is expected.

Koenigsegg to Develop New Hypercar

Koenigsegg, a Swedish manufacturer known for its supercars is planning to develop a brand new hypercar. The Koenigsegg model will be named the One:1 and will have a one to one power to weight ratio, hence its name. The One:1 will be based on the Koenigsegg Agera, an existing model that is powered by a twin-turbo V8. It is expected that Koenigsegg will send all the power to the rear wheels which is surprising given the large amounts of power this vehicle will have. Brand creator, Christian von Koenigsegg states that this hypercar will be a “money-is-no-object venture”.

BMW’s M division has always made well balance, naturally aspirated, rear wheel drive sports cars. Since the introduction of the current generation BMW M5, BMW has been moving away from their classic formula by adding weight, electronic controls, and forced induction motors to add comfort, safety, and efficiency. Soon BMW may add an all-wheel drive option to their M lineup.
