This past March at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland Spyker debuted the B6 Venator Concept and again brought it to Pebble Beach as a convertible. The Holland based automaker has not revealed any information about Venator until now.
Alfred Morris is a 22 year old running back for the Washington Redskins. Being an NFL star he still drives around in his 1991 Mazda 626 sedan. Alfred bought his 91’ 626 from his pastor for a whopping $2 when he was playing for Florida Atlantic University. Alfred has grown fond of his first car like many others. No one has the same experience with any other car like owning their first car. According to Alfred, his 626 is “his baby” and “is more than just a car”. The reason he has kept his car for this long is to serve as a reminder to where he has come from and is a testament to where he is going. After Mazda had learned of Alfred’s story they had offered to fully restore his 1991 Mazda 626, code named “The Bentley”.
Range Rover wants to make it a point that their Hybrid Range Rover is just as capable as its gas and diesel counterparts by partaking on a 10,000 mile trip known as the Silk Trail, from London to Mumbai, India. The 53 day excursion covered 13 countries and climbed to an altitude of 18,000 feet in China. The good news is that the Range Rover Hybrid made it, the bad news, Range Rover suffered 15 punctured tires.
Nissan started the Infiniti brand in the United States and more recently to Europe. The Infiniti brand was created to offer a more premium feel and move away from Nissan’s budget friendly appearance and it was also an answer to Toyota’s Lexus brand. Infiniti has done well in the states and Nissan wants to bring Infiniti’s premium image to Japan.
With the growing electric vehicle segment, Mercedes Benz is going to bring the B-Class electric vehicle stateside next year as a competitor to BMW’s i3. The B-Class was unveiled this past March at the New York Auto Show and is roughly the size of the Ford C-Max Hybrid. The B-Class shares its front wheel drive platform with the A-Class and CLA Coupe.
Toyota has not been a front runner in powertrain development these past few years. That soon will change within the Toyota lineup. Toyota is investing heavily in turbocharged engines, larger displacement Atkinson cycle engines, CVTs, fixed gear transmissions, and a host of hybrid and fuel cell tech.
